I definitely recommend getting a Topcoat & Primecoat Set. It will be worth your $15.99 especially for children. Good luck getting your toddler to sit still for all three coats though! I tried (without success) painting Natalie’s nails… twice. Keep in mind she’s just 19 months old. By the end, we were both covered in purple nail polish! What I did get painted didn’t last very long.

The polish worked well on my toes and lasted much longer. I used two coats of Midnight Pansy purple and one topcoat. The nail polish at first seems thin and watery. After the second coat though you’ll notice the polish has much more of a shine. And the topcoat really seals it in and adds shine.

The only type of nail polish I’ve ever used on Natalie was Piggy Paint. Without the primecoat or topcoat, she tends to keep the polish on her nails for a whole 24 hours… if that! With her hands constantly in her mouth, it disappears quickly. At least I don’t need to worry about her putting her fingers in her mouth since it’s safe, non-toxic, and as “Natural as Mud”.
