Has your child been begging for a lovable pet? Do you hate the hassle of feeding and maintaining an indoor pet? Don’t you wish there was compromise?! Well now there is! 🙂

FurReal Friends GoGo’s Walkin’ Puppy is a smaller, cheaper version of the GoGo My Walkin Pup ($50). It is a great (under $20) gift for kids and since it is a smaller version I would recommend this toy for children as young as 2!

There is a button on the back of the dog (where you would “pet” him) that makes him walk, bark, pant, and other cute doggy noises.

I didn’t have any problems with him walking on the hard floors, table, carpets, or even the seats in my car. It claims that it walks in a circle and it does walk towards the left. The only problem is it only takes a few steps and then stops. So you must press the button multiple times before it makes a complete circle. The videos I’ve seen show the pups walking for up to 30 seconds but the longest I was able to get him to walk was 3.3 seconds. (Using my stopwatch via iPhone) Huge difference!

Like a real dog, it does shed some. (I told you it was a compromise!) It sheds little white fibers and sometimes even clumps! And I’m surprised it doesn’t come with a brush or cloth leash/collar.

I’m sure this toy will be overlooked in the toy box eventually but for now, we are enjoying having a dog in the house that doesn’t poop or bite!

If you’re looking for a dog for older children (5+), I would check out the GoGo My Walkin’ Pup which interacts like a real dog and has a remote controlled leash!
