We recently took a day trip down to Stone Mountain Park for the kid’s festival “Spring FUN Break” and to see the newly opened Geyser Towers! I love Stone Mountain! They are very family friendly, clean, and surprisingly somewhat inexpensive. We had a blast and the Geyser Towers are a perfect addition to the park! It’s a great way to cool down after walking around in the Georgia heat!

Geyser Towers

Geyser Towers features multiple levels of suspended rope bridges, net tunnels, and towering platforms that overlook a gushing geyser. While climbing through the structure, expect to get hit with sporadic eruptions water! Both my daughter and I got hit good walking across the bridge!

The building of this attraction will be the second installation of its kind in the world and the only one in North America to integrate water features. The other similar structure is located at Sea World Australia but does not include water.

We brought towels but didn’t even need them because we dried in the sun. You will need close-toed shoes though. The ascend and descend on and off the towers are very steep.  It would have been easier with better shoes. We wore crocs but many kids were wearing tennis shoes; water shoes would be ideal. If you don’t have close-toed shoes for some reason, there is a booth where you can purchase croc-like shoes.

Children must be 32″ tall and children between 32″ and 40″ tall must be accompanied by someone 16 or older.  The structure provides ample room for adults and the perfect amount of excitement for kids. As an option for the youngest guests, toddlers can play in a trickling creek while mom and dad relax in the shade.

Stone Mountain Park is Georgia’s most popular attraction and one of the top historical attractions in the U.S. Home to the world’s largest freestanding piece of exposed granite, Stone Mountain Park also features a historical Memorial Carving which is the world’s largest relief sculpture. The 3,200-acre park includes more than a dozen attractions, historical and natural sights, two Marriott hotels, Georgia’s largest campground, two championship golf courses, and expansive natural woodlands with hiking trails.

While there we also rode the scenic railroad, played in The Great Barn, a 3 story indoor fun house, and saw the Yogi Bear 4-D Adventure, which I recommend seeing! It didn’t take up much time, we got to sit down, and it was fun. Be prepared to get a little wet!

We also got to hold an adorable joey kangaroo at the Wildlife Wonders’ Animal Babies show. We didn’t stay for the Lasershow mainly because my two-year-old was worn out and couldn’t take much more excitement for the day. Overall we had a great time and look forward to visiting again!
