I have’t been tubing in the snow in over 10 years! Here in Georgia we don’t get snow very often, so we were more than thrilled to visit Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain Park for the first time!
The snow-packed mountainside is on five football fields of frosty joy, including 20 lanes of tubing. You can zoom down the 400-foot hill with 5 people in the family-sized tubes, or go it alone as a single rider.
It was almost 70° outside when we went. I was concerned that the snow would be slush, but it was perfect little icy shards. I don’t think I’ve ever been so hot while playing in the snow.
Lots of people were wearing short-sleeves and even shorts in the snow! I recommend bringing an extra change of clothes and wearing water resistant shoes. My shoes were immediately soaked after visiting the SnowZone and I walked around with wet feet the rest of the day! At least it was warm though!
The tubing session only lasts 2 hours, but it was more than enough time! We ended up tubing for only 1 hour, which was plenty of time for multiple trips down the slopes!
The SnowZone play area features:
- Snow Fort – Mini tubing and tunnels for children under 54 inches tall.
- Snowman Valley – Make your very own snow friend. The snow closet has everything you need to make the snowman of your dreams – from crazy hats to silly scarves!
- Igloo City – Construct a fort, make a tower, dig a tunnel or build a city with the provided buckets and shovels. The attendants help make your cool creation come to life!
- Snowball Shootin’ Gallery – Using an old-fashioned snowball shoot at crazy targets that spin, flip and turn.
One $27 ticket includes a two-hour tubing session plus all day access to the snow play areas. We had a Snow Mountain & Christmas Combo Pass (online ticket offer only – $45 per person) which includes the tubing session and access to the snow play area, lots of dazzling Christmas shows, and all of the other park attractions like The Polar Express 4-D Experience, Singalong Christmas Train, Mini-Golf, Summit Skyride, The Great Barn, Snow Angel Palace, and more!
I originally thought it was a little pricey but it’s worth every penny. I can’t wait to go back! It was a marvelous day with perfect weather. The park wasn’t busy at all, and the tubing lines moved quickly. Besides losing our cash in the parking lot when we arrived, it was the best day I’ve had in a long time!

beautiful photos!
That looks like so much fun. Your daughter looks like she’s about to fly out of the tube in that one photo. lol Great pics!
Hahaha I know! It was a good capture! The kids tubes were really safe though. I didn’t see anyone actually fall out. I think she was just flying really fast since my husband practically threw her down the ramp! 🙂
Looks like you had a blast!! Here in NH we didn’t get much snow last winter, but some winters we’re buried. So who knows what this year will bring 🙂
Happy WW!

The tubing looks like a lot of fun! We went to Stone Mountain right when they were starting to blow in the snow and getting ready for that attraction. Would love to go back and do it sometime!
