I’ve had a lot of people (especially here lately) ask what kind of camera I have or which lenses I use so I thought I’d give you a little tour and show off my newest edition!
Since (obviously) my camera is in the photos, I took these shots with my iPhone.
These are my two favorite lenses
– 85mm f/1.8 and my newest lens the 40mm f/2.8
My birthday is coming up on July 6th and of course I begged my husband for an early birthday present! 🙂 He did a great job! A new 40mm lens AND a remote so I can finally take pictures of myself without setting the timer and running like crazy!
These were taken with the 40mm lens :
Here’s what’s in my bag:
Canon T3i | 18-55mm | 55-250mm | 85mm | 40mm
I currently am not doing any kind of paid photo shoots but I feel like I’m sooo much more prepared now than I was 3 years ago when I first bought a “good” camera and I would love to start doing some paid gigs!

YAY for a new lens. Beautiful photos.
These are all great and look at those gorgeous eyes!
Oh my, it’s like a bag full of heaven!

Wow, now that is some camera. If I had the money, I would have one, too! Thank you for linking up.
I bought a $200 fujifilm, and it’s been really nice, but no where near what a canon would do. AND I need some classes.
My husband’s the photographer in our family, I just use a point-n-shoot. Nice photos, though.
Great shots. I haven’t had a real camera in ages.

Great shots, I love the portrait of your daughter, so sharp and beautiful. We have a linky party on thursday for shutterbugs :). Please join us if you can. Thanks and have a great week.
Thanks! I will!
I so want the 85 and the 35 is also on my list. It’s funny we have none of the same lenses except the kit lens.
Oh how I love my Canon. I agree with you, I am so better off than I was when I first got it. I thought I was ready to start taking photos for other people but the stress of getting it perfect takes the joy out of it. I give myself another year or so and a few classes before I venture into the paid world.
Now on to that 40mm. I have been drooling over it and now you make me want it even more. My 50mm broke and I do want to get another one before I get the 40 but I may just get the 40 because I want to go with the 50mm 1.4 and I need to save up my money!
Great photos!
Thank you! Yes I’ve heard of a lot of people having issues with the 50mm 1.8, that’s why I went with the 85mm 1.8. The 50mm 1.4 was my second choice over the 40mm 2.8 but I really needed a good everyday walk-around lens and you can’t beat the 40mm for the money! Plus it’s TINY so it doesn’t take up much space!
Thanks for sharing your photo gear. I too am always curious what lenses people use. I have a 28-55mm zoom and 55-250 zoom. I’d love to try a macro lens or extension tubes. My camera is the canon t2i. Happy WW and photo shooting!
Ohhh I’ve been thinking about getting one of those Macro Extension Tubes. I know some people complain that they aren’t perfect but they are $12 freakin dollars! What did they expect!
I just bought one! Haha I figured why not!
A new lens is always a perfect gift!
