Children’s Nail Polish Gift Sets {5 winners}

Since my dad was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia (CLL), I seem to pay more attention to packaged products and other cosmetic items that could put me at a higher risk for cancer. Especially since that type of cancer genetic and I’m probably already at a much higher risk.

I feel like I should be taking extra precautions for not only me, but also my children.

Don’t get me wrong, I still drink way too much Mountain Dew and die my hair blonde on a regular basis (not good, I’m sure) but I’m slowly switching to a more natural lifestyle. I have switched to organic shampoo, and I use coconut oil for everything now, instead of spending money on products full of nasty stuff we don’t need!!

It seems like all our food and personal care items are full of toxic chemicals that are killing us! A very popular body wash, geared towards men with their slick and sexy marketing, contains Cocamidopropyl Betaine which has been linked to cancer in animal tests. As well as Etidronic Acid which has been linked to reduced fertility and can even reduced your chance for a healthy, full term pregnancy.

Scary stuff!

Obviously you can see why I try to choose more all-natural products, so I love it when I find companies like SNAILS (Safe Nails)!

When I got the package in the mail, my niece was so excited about painting her little cousins toenails. And I wasn’t afraid to let them be messy since I knew the nail polish was completely soluble and would clean right off of anything!

I’ve used eco-friendly nail polish before so I expected the nail polish to seem watery but I was surprisingly pleased with the colors! The Frog Prince (green) and Purple Comet (light purple) were a little lighter in color than I would’ve liked, so you’ll probably need a few coats to get a bold color. But the Fairytale (pink) and Cherry Queen (deep red/purple) were very vibrant – which you can see in the picture below.

I would like to see the nail color names a little larger on the bottles, only because they’re so cute. And since the polish is water based, if you want your nail color to last longer I would definitely recommend applying a clear coat like the Breathe Easy top coat from SNAILS.

  1. My daughter loves purple so purple comet and the twinkle dust i mean what girl doesn’t need gold nail polish!!

  2. So this is weird- I’ve been trying to enter over the last couple of days and the rafflecopter is lined up funny so that I can click a couple places but not everywhere I need to. I’ve never experienced this before and have been using rafflecopter on other sites fine. I was wondering if anyone else reported this?

      1. I have the same problem. For example, I click on the button to “Log In to Enter” and it pulls up the log in popup. I can enter my name and e-mail. The “Enter” button won’t respond to clicks, though. To get logged in, I have to press the Enter key on my keyboard after typing in my info.

        It looks like it works fine in IE for me, just not Firefox so I assumed it was one of my add-ons causing problems. It’s not, though, I just tried running Firefox with all my add-ons disabled (safe mode) and it doesn’t work that way either. The direct link you gave worked fine for me with Firefox, though.

        1. Looks like it is just this giveaway. The Coconut oil and McD’s giveaways are responding properly.

  3. What a great Idea! My daughter would be so happy if we won lol thank you! all colors are pretty so hard to choose! Purple comet and Sweet heart are our chooses lol

  4. I’m so glad I found this post! My 7 yr old is about as bad with polish as I am and my 2 yr old just gets her little heart broken. These would give them both something to do! The bottles are precious! Bedtime stories and secret diary
