Spring Break is coming up soon for my girls, and my husband has a whole week off work! Every year we typically take a short vacation close to home. We have been to Georgia Aquarium many times, but they are always adding new exhibits so it’s a different experience every time you visit.

Ultimate Travel Guide to Georgia Aquarium for an Epic Spring Break

Combo Ticket Discounts

If you are planning to visit Atlanta for Spring Break, I would definitely recommend the CityPASS. We did a CityPASS on our honeymoon in San Francisco. The very best attractions have been wrapped up in a ticket booklet that’s valid for 9 consecutive days starting with the first day of use, giving you plenty of time to make some memories during Spring Break!

Not planning on doing all five attractions? You can get the “Pandas & Penguins” discounted combo ticket to visit Georgia Aquarium and Zoo Atlanta or the “Mountains to Seas” Georgia Aquarium and Stone Mountain combo ticket.

For a limited time only, enjoy special online-only Early Bird Savings for every member of your family until 11am every day of the week! Select an entry time before to 11AM, print your tickets, and bypass the ticketing lines! Click to learn more about the special offers at Georgia Aquarium.

Hotel Packages

Although we are close enough to visit the city and drive home, Atlanta traffic can be crazy, and it’s worth it to stay in a hotel if you are doing multiple attractions. We stayed in Atlanta on New Years, and it was so convenient being able to run back to the room, especially with kids.

Georgia Aquarium has partnered with a variety of nearby hotels to offer combo packages. Book a “Aquarium Preferred Hotel” Package and receive exclusive General Admission Anytime tickets, allowing you to bypass the lines and enter the Georgia Aquarium any time during normal operating hours. These special tickets are only available by booking a “Preferred Hotel” package.

General Admission includes the following: Admission to the Aquarium with access to the galleries like Tropical Diver, Ocean Voyager, River Scout and Cold Water Quest, AT&T Dolphin Show, 4D Funbelievable Theater, and SunTrust Pier 225’s live presentation, Under the Boardwalk, with incredible California sea lions.

Make sure to arrive 30-45 minutes prior to show times for the special pre-show and to get good seats! If you are brave enough to sit in the first few rows, you will have the opportunity to get splashed by the animals!

Mobile App

To make the most of your visit, download the free, interactive Georgia Aquarium mobile app before visiting. You’ll discover fun facts and information about the marine animals, get guided audio tours through the galleries, and receive updates on show times, character appearances and more!

You can also load your tickets onto the app! Just select “Mobile Tickets” in the side menu of the mobile app and enter your ticket confirmation number. Your tickets will be loaded onto your phone so you can skip the lines and scan them at the door.

Journey with Gentle Giants & SCUBA Diving (older kids)

I am so excited to suit up and SCUBA dive in Georgia Aquarium’s Ocean Voyager exhibit with thousands of fish, zebra sharks, and sawfish this summer! I have been SCUBA diving before, but never in a 6.3 million gallon tank with the largest fish in the world, the whale shark! The newest Rebreather Dive Program is available for adults and teens who are at least 15 years old with up to an hour dive time.

Animal Encounters & Behind the Scenes Tours (younger kids)

Georgia Aquarium also offers behind-the-scenes tours for guests of all ages interested in learning more about daily operations at the Aquarium and caring for the animals.

Kids ages 7 and up can go behind the scenes to meet dolphins, sea otters and/or penguins. Each encounter is a separate experience. They are a great interactive addition to anyone’s Aquarium visit. Reservations are available on a first come, first served basis so book them early!
