Hey everyone! I am so flattered that Marvelous Mommy asked me to do a guest post for her–and on a recipe–y’all are in luck because I love to bake. It’s seriously fun for me. But before I let you in and tell you what the yumminess is that we’re going to back I’ll tell you a little more about myself.
My name is Chelle and I am the author of The Winey Mommy. I live on the Gulf Coast in Mississippi–and if you’re wondering if we have gotten hit with any oil, the answer is yes. Yes, we have. I have two daughters and a husband who serves our country in the US Air Force. I love my life as a stay at home mom–and I’ve really started baking more since being home. I love my life–my family, my camera and of course, my wine.
So today I’ve decided that I am going to share the best blackberry cobbler recipe ever with you. I can honestly call it sinfully delicious–it is just that good! The top of it gets crunchy like. I can’t really describe it except to say yum.
The ingredients:
Blackberries {enough to fill half of a 9×13 pan–usually 1 1/2 bags of frozen}
2 c. sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 c. flour
1/8 tsp salt
6 Tbs butter
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
2 Tbs cornstarch
2/3 c. boiling water
~ Fill a 9×13 pan 1/2 full of blackberries:
~ Combine the 2 c. sugar, baking powder, flour, salt, butter and milk. Stir well.
~ Spread the above milk mixture over berries.
~ Combine 1 c. sugar and cornstarch. Sprinkle over milk mixture and berries.
~ Pour the boiling water on top of everything.
~ Bake @ 350 for approx 50 minutes. Also–I place a cookie sheet on a rack under the cobbler to catch any that may spill over.
And when it’s done it will look so gorgeous–and make your home smell delicious!
