This is absolutely absurd to me!!!
On Monday evening, in a misguided effort to prevent public nudity, a new public indecency ordinance was passed in Forest Park, Georgia, a small city south of Atlanta. According to the new law, women cannot publicly breastfeed a child older than 2 years of age.
Seriously!?!?! Public Nudity!?!?
Now I will agree, 2 years is a little old to be breastfeeding but I also believe it’s a personal preference. What gives them the right to say when and where I can breastfeed?!
And since when do I need to be naked to breastfeed my child??
I typically try to find a private place while breastfeeding in public and I also have a nursing cover BUT you best believe if I need nurse my hungry child, I WILL! No matter where I am.
If you come to my house, expect to see me nursing my child openly! Without a nursing cover!! Hey, it’s my house people! If you don’t like it, you can leave!
Thanks for sharing your opinions with us.As me.It is a little embarrassed to nursing the child.
Yeah, I saw this story and it made me mad too. Who gave THEM the right to declare when we have to stop breastfeeding our children and where? I’ve seen MANY women breastfeeding and I don’t recall ever actually seeing nipple while they were doing. I hate politicians..
Somebody was probably unreasonable about lt. Too bad others have to suffer. Hangin’ it out then refusing to change when asked nicely.
Looks like Browns Bridge behind you…we are close! What a great way to have family time on the lake!
Yet you can get on American Idol and shake your butt…hmmm…which is more indecent?!
I still don’t understand why people have such a problem seeing breasts in public when they’re being used for WHAT GOD INTENDED!
Breasts are designed to nourish and soothe children. Our culture has turned them into warped symbols of sex.
This ordinance is also ridiculous because how are they going to know hold old a child is? Do I need to start carrying around my son’s birth certificate to show he’s 14 months and “below the legal age to breastfeed” in Forest Park?!
