Earlier this year I got a Silhouette Cameo. And if you follow me on social media at all, you know I freakin’ love that thing!
The Silhouette machine plugs into your computer with a USB cable, just like a printer would. However, instead of printing, it uses a blade to cut paper, card stock, vinyl, even fabric and more! It does all kinds of cool stuff! Your project possibilities are endless!
Next, I’m thinking about etching our last name into our glassware so it never gets lost at a holiday party! Oh and my nails! I want to do some awesome snowflake nail designs. Oh and a fabric pendant banner! See, endless possibilities!

I’ll show you very quickly how easy it is to cut and cover something in vinyl!
Vinyl is basically like a big sticker. There’s a paper backing you peel off and stick to anything you want. To cut it, you can stick it on a cutting mat or you can stick it directly into the machine!
First I cleaned the glass thoroughly and let the bottles dry completely.
Once you have designed your art in the Silhouette Studio, cut it to the size you need with the Silhouette machine, and removed the excess vinyl like the letter centers, then you can transfer the vinyl to your surface.
I use contact paper to transfer mine. For multi-colored vinyl, I cut the pieces individually and then merged them together on my contact paper before transferring it.
I used this same concept for my nail art, my Christmas Mugs, and the wall art!

I would love the file for the baby its cold outside for the mug. I cant click on the link. Thank you!
Doesn’t the vinyl come off with washing? Or do you just have to be extra careful and hand wash? Thx 🙂
It really depends on the vinyl and how you apply it. I have some cups that wash easily in the dishwasher and some cups that need to be hand washed.
