First off, I MUST show off my new camera! I can’t believe I haven’t posted about it before! For my 5 year anniversary my husband gave me a choice of a new ring or a new camera. And obviously I immediately said CAMERA!
I got the Canon 6D and it’s amazing! Just marvelous!
It takes a beautiful picture even in low light and I love the wifi feature. I can post pictures directly from my camera to Facebook or Instagram!
BUT anywho, back to the zoo. I took these pictures of my girls at the zoo recently with my new Canon and my 50mm 1.4 lens.
I love Natalie’s little turned foot in this picture. Did you know you can get 4 FREE tickets to the Atlanta Zoo every year from your local library with just your library card?! Yep that’s what we did.
You just watch a short DVD about the history of the zoo, which was actually very interesting, and then you get your free passes! You can visit the family pass page for full details on accessing and using the Zoo Atlanta Family Pass, or call your local public library.
We planned on going earlier this year but never got around to it. Since my husband had some vacation time around our anniversary we decided to finally take the girls!
A few of the animals weren’t out because it was cold but we practically had the park to ourselves which was awesome!
This King Cobra was over 10 feet long and I’m pretty sure he really wanted to eat my face off. He was intensely following me across the glass as I was photographing him!
I love this shot of the Komodo Dragon. He was also very intrigued by me and my camera.

You got some great pictures! I imagine the Atlanta zoo is far better than our 15 in. zoo (not that I don’t appreciate ours, I just wish it was bigger). 🙂
Funny how the zoo never gets old.

I had one of the snapping turtles try to cross the road in front of me… he was quick, and nearly popped my tire. Your new camera is GORGEOUS. I can’t wait to see it in person! 🙂
Happy November!!! Your blog is awesome, thanks for hosting this great party.
~~ Have a great day, Sharon & Denise

OMG!! I would have gone with the camera too! I love your shots. They look like something out a catalog! FAB!! Happy Anny too!
Those are some really lovely captures. Thanks for hosting WW!
We haven’t been to the zoo in a while.
As always, amazing shots.
My camera doesn’t do so well in low light…even with the ISO all the way up (or down, I guess depending on how you look at it). I wish I could have gone one more step up!
Oh, yeah, happy anniversary!
Happy anniversary! That was a very sweet gift you received. I’d say as a blogger, a camera would definitely be a little more useful than jewelry. Nice choice!
The flamingoes are simply gorgeous!
