My daughter and I were lucky enough to be invited to the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa, along with 6 other bloggers and their kids! We took a mother-daughter road trip to Destin Florida which is about 7 hours from us.

Hilton Sandestin Front

The Hilton Sandestin Resort is THE LARGEST full-service beachfront resort in Northwest Florida. It has 6 restaurants, a luxury spa and recently spent $13 million on new updates like enhanced rooms with built-in bunk beds, redesigning the indoor pool and main lobby, so you have a view of the coast immediately upon arrival.

Travel

Natalie had never been out of the state before (neither of my kids actually), and she was thrilled about having some girl time at the beach! I bought us matching bags and dresses for the trip!

Hilton Sandestin Trip

We left out early Sunday, missed any traffic in Atlanta, and arrived Sunday about 2pm.

I was surprised at how big the property actually is and loved the privacy of the gates. We drove almost a quarter mile just to get from the first gate to the lobby.

Our Room

Total, the resort has 602 deluxe guest rooms and suites. We stayed in a Junior Deluxe Suite on the 10th floor of the Emerald Tower.

I love that the bunk beds are separated from the rest of the room so the parents get a little privacy. Natalie kept telling me she was going to “rest in her room”. Plus the kids have their very own tv!

We had a great view of the beach and the resort from our balcony. Natalie couldn’t wait to try out one of the three heated pools!

Day 1 – May 4th

After we got settled in, we headed to the beach to build sandcastles. Natalie also picked up a beach buddy, Sunny the Sea Turtle. He’s a cute and informative companion who shares information about protecting mother turtles as they lay eggs, hatchlings’ journey back to the ocean, and the resort’s turtle-safe lighting. Hilton Sandestin Beach’s new deck areas are designed to minimize disturbances to nesting sea turtles and other wildlife.

Then we took a scavenger hunt all around the Hilton property and had dinner on the pool deck at Barefoots Beachside Bar and Grill before watching the sun go down!
