My family and I were invited to Panama City Beach to stay at the Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort in Florida. As you may know, my dad has stage 4 lung cancer and has been unable to travel, or really even leave the house, due to his low blood cell counts. We planned our stay at the resort in-between chemo treatments so that my mom and dad could take the trip with us.
This vacation was special to me since it will probably be the last trip I get to take with my parents and my family together. I can’t thank Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort enough for giving us the opportunity.
DAY 1
We arrived Saturday evening where we were greeted by the awesome staff, who gave us vouchers for all the restaurants located at Sandpiper, and a beach voucher to use on a boat ride, kayak, or paddle board of our choice, which is conveniently located right on the beach in front of the resort.
I knew we would be staying in a condo, but I had no idea we’d be staying on the top floor with an amazing view of the ocean!
We had a two bedroom, two bathroom condo with floor-to-ceiling ocean views in every single room!
The bedrooms are on either end, so you have more privacy. They even stocked the fridge with Mountain Dew for me! Because, you know, I couldn’t survive without it!
The first thing we did was check out the Tiki Bar. We spent a lot of time in the Tiki Bar area. It’s in the middle of the resort, and it’s where most of the action happens.
They have drinks for the adults and family-friendly games like karaoke, ping-pong, and pool for everyone. They also have daily activities like scavenger hunts, sunset s’mores, foam parties, and more!
DAY 2
On Sunday, we had a great breakfast at the Beachside Deli right there on the resort property. Then we decided to take a pontoon boat out for a few hours!
My girls had a blast and daddy even let them drive the boat! We saw two dolphins and tons of sand dollars when we stopped to swim near Shell Island.
Afterwards, we ate at Coconuts, which is across the street from the Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort & Tiki Bar. Coconuts is a friendly, laid back restaurant with great service, serving delicious food with a tropical twist.
My husband had a “Hangover Burger” complete with a fried egg on top. And my mom was thrilled with the fresh grouper, which is delivered fresh daily. By far, Coconuts was the best meal we had the entire time we were there! Definitely try the Fried Cheese Curds! They were amazing!
That night we watched the Polynesian Fire Dance Show which is just one of the daily activities schedule on-site at the Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort. Check out the full list of activities before you book your visit!
DAY 3
Monday was our last full day at the resort so we decided to hangout around the beach and check out the rest of the resort amenities.
First we played a round of Mini Golf and then we headed over to the Lazy River Ride to cool off.
The girls loved all the pools and the waterslides, even though they didn’t get to do the big waterslide. They don’t fully know how to swim on their own so I wasn’t comfortable letting them go down alone. The Lazy River Ride was a lot more slow paced and great for the whole family.
We had reserved beach chairs so we decided to spend the rest of the afternoon lounging at the beach. Natalie still isn’t very overjoyed about swimming in the ocean, because well, sharks live in the ocean! Haley, on the other hand, wanted to swim around the world in her tiny little float without any help.
Overall, we had a great time! The resort is in a great location. Ideal for families and close to a pharmacy and grocery store.
My dad was worn out from the trip, but it was worth every minute. The girls were ready to move in and live there forever once they found out the resort is pet-friendly!

That is my kind of place! I live in Florida but haven’t ventured up to the pandhandle. I hope to one day!
Look like you all had a fantastic time! Jealous of how beautiful that place is! 🙂 Will have to put that on my “list”
