Welcome to Project 52.

One theme, one photo, once a week. Simple.

Project52week33

Last night was the first skate night at the girls’ school. I haven’t been skating in a really long time. I forgot what a good workout it is!

Shooting in a skating rink is really hard without a tripod. It’s really dark and there’s zero natural light, people are moving quickly, the lighting changes constantly and every light is a different color!

The lighting in this photo isn’t great, and it’s grainy because my ISO is so high, BUT it’s actually one of my favorite photos because it tells a story.

You can see the funky carpet, the colored lights, the chewing gum stained carpeted seating that makes me cringe, and the “oh crap, I’m gonna fall” look on Haley’s face.

They have never been skating before, ever. They both did surprisingly well, especially with these stands on wheels. They can’t wait to go back again.

My favorite photo from the “soft” theme is from Sarah at 2Paws Designs. Nothing says soft like a fuzzy blanket and dimpled baby hands! See what’s in my camera bag here.
