I’m walking you through our FIRST trip to Disney World for the 2016 Disney Social Media Moms Conference, one day at a time! Be sure to check out Day #1 – Animal Kingdom and Day #2 – Hollywood Studios of my Disney Diary before continuing on!

Saturday, May 7th – Disney Springs

This was our main day to explore the parks at our own pace. But first, all the Disney Moms and families were transported to the AMC Theatre at Disney Springs for an exclusive screening of “Alice through the Looking Glass,” which is coming to theaters May 27th!

As tempting as it was, we chose NOT to see the movie. I still haven’t seen the first Alice in Wonderland movie! I know, I know! Instead, we had a quick breakfast with Doc McStuffins before heading to Magic Kingdom for the day!

Magic Kingdom – Main Street U.S.A.

If you only visit one Disney Park, I say do the Magic Kingdom. It’s full of restaurants, character experiences, and fun rides for the kids. Expect to spend a full day there!

Plus, you can’t visit Disney World without getting “THE” shot of your family on Main Street USA in front of Cinderella Castle. There are actually live streaming web cameras online if you want to get a peek at the parades or check back at nighttime for fireworks!

Thanks to our Magic Bands, we didn’t have to carry anything, at all! No bags, no tickets, no money, and no camera to keep up with! There are tons of photographer lined up on Main Street USA waiting to capture a family photo for you!

We lucked out with such a great photographer. She spent a lot of time with us and continued to shoot photos of us on the sidewalk as a parade was coming by. She took a ton of photos for us!

For lunch, we found Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe which is a quick service restaurant with hot dogs and burgers, towards the front of Tomorrowland. Even though it’s not a fancy restaurant, it was pricey — $72 for four of us to eat burgers and fries!

However, I’ve never, and probably never will, have a burger quite like this one. It was a Barbecued Pork Bacon Cheeseburger. Yep, a bacon cheeseburger with pulled pork on top! It was pretty amazing! As usual, the service was fast and efficient. Finding a table there was the hardest part. It’s a busy area.

If you are visiting the Magic Kingdom for the first time, I recommend walking to back of the park and working your way to the front. Main Street USA at the front of the park was probably the busiest area. Lots of people are being funneled down a tight street, plus everyone is stopping constantly to get a selfie in front of Cinderella Castle!

The rest of the day we rode as many rides as possible, which is a lot if you have FastPasses for everything like we did! I definitely recommend using the FastPass+ service, it will save you so much time! Download the app and start scheduling months before your trip for the best selections.

The girls were tall enough to ride the majority of the rides at the Magic Kingdom. Haley was only one inch too short for a few rides, but we will save those for our next visit!

Splash Mountain was definitely one of our favorite rides… even though Natalie looks terrified in the photo! I thought it was just a water ride with a big drop, but there was so much more to it than that!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was also a lot of fun, and even though the Mad Tea Party ride doesn’t last very long, Natalie said the teacups were her favorite.
