Thank you TruGreen for sponsoring this post.
If you follow my Instagram stories, you probably have seen some pictures of our new house! We just recently bought a new house in a beautiful area, and we are so thrilled to be settling in before the girls start their new school!
I absolutely love our whole yard! The lot is much bigger than our old house, and the previously established landscape is easy to maintain.
We spend a lot of time outside, especially during the summer, so we wanted some nice outdoor seating, but we couldn’t decide on a long table or couch/chairs for the back patio.
We ended up going with the table and I’m so glad we did. It’s perfect for entertaining and having snacks outside with the neighborhood kids.
We already have a termite prevention service and pest control service that kills ants, spiders, and other creepy crawlers inside and outside the house. However, it does not include mosquitos so we decided to try the TruGreen Mosquito Defense service which is a monthly service that targets mosquitoes and ticks since Atlanta, Georgia is one of the top U.S. cities bothered by mosquitoes.
TruGreen’s Mosquito Defense service is a three-step process:
- INSPECT: Checking your property for areas where mosquitoes could be living. Mosquito populations don’t die off during the winter months, instead, they find shelter and become active when temperatures outside reach 50 degrees.
- TREAT: The targeted mist application technique works within 24 hours. It is safe for pets and children once the yard has dried.
- MAINTAIN: Schedule monthly treatment to help protect against mosquitoes throughout the season. TruGreen will also perform a free reservice if you see any mosquitos between treatments.
I was concerned about the evening rain in the forecast, but I was glad to hear that normal rainfall does not impact the effectiveness of your treatment. The mosquito specialists applied products on top and underneath the leaves in our flower beds and around the house and once it dries, the rain will not affect it.
We have been very happy with the results so far. We saw a significant difference between the mosquitos in our yard and the ones in our neighbors yard.
According to the CDC, eliminating breeding grounds is the most important thing you can do to keep mosquitos out of your yard.
Protect your family from mosquitoes by:
- Removing or regularly replacing standing water that accumulates in things like buckets and birdbaths.
- Making sure your yard is free from piles of twigs, branches and leaves where mosquitoes could lay eggs.
- Keeping your lawn well mowed (we do ours once a week) and other vegetation trimmed to eliminate cool spots where mosquitoes prefer to hang out.
- Taking the necessary precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and considering hiring a professional lawn care company like TruGreen to kill mosquitoes where they rest – in trees, shrubs, mulched areas and all types of ground cover.
Consult with a TruGreen lawn care expert to discuss the concerns you have with your lawn. They offer lots of services so you may want to try bundling and saving!
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of CLEVER and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
We are fortunate not to have any near our home but we have friends who have water nearby so it’s an issue. I hate mosquitos!
I NEED to get TrueGreen out to my house. The mosquitoes down here in Georgia are absolutely insane.
I need to do this. We have mosquitoes everywhere, and they can make it miserable to be outside. I don’t want that!
We spray for ticks in the back where our dogs are a lot and keep things mowed. We just got a mosquito trap that’s pretty fancy too. hoping it helps.
This sounds like the perfect service for my yard! The mosquitos have been horrible this year.
Wow! This is a great post and very helpful. Need to call TrueGreen and help to get rid of the mosquitoes around the house.
I need to do this! The mosquitoes here are so bad no matter how hard we try to get rid of them.
Your house is so beautiful! We have no issue with mosquitoes, but definitely could use TruGreen to get rid of nasty ants in the summer.
Now that sounds like a good plan. Mosquitoes are great at ruining things.
I need this! Mosquitoes are terrible in Florida especially during the summer. What’s even worse is that my daughter is allergic to them.
I hate mosquitos. They bring a lot of diseases. I don’t have trees (sadly) and standing water (glad) in our area. So I don’t see any threats. However, I get attacked by mosquitos wheneverI trip to our farmhous.
Huh! I had no idea TruGreen offered a mosquito repelling service. Good to know. They are really out of hand some times!
What part of GA do you live???!
