We just got back from Beaches Turks and Caicos, and it was honestly the best vacation we’ve ever had. The Beaches Resort spoils you so much, we didn’t want to leave!
The morning before we left, our girls were plotting ways to move there. We decided to become scuba diving instructors and open a dive shop on the island. We could spend our days getting kissed by the sun and swimming in turquoise water, sounds like a plan, right?! We definitely had a hard time readjusting to the real world.
Just south of the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos are actually 40 different islands and cays, but just eight are inhabited. We stayed in the French Village at the Beaches Resort on the north shore of the island of Providenciales (the most developed island) in Turks and Caicos.
With an average of 350 days of sunshine annually, it’s no wonder Grace Bay was voted the World’s #1 Best Beach by TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards.
Due to a deep passage that separates the Turks Islands from the Caicos Islands, Beaches Turks and Caicos has some of the best diving sites in the world. The clear turquoise water is like glass, making it easy to spot migrating fish, rays, turtles, dolphins and even Humpback whales.
My first dive in Turks and Caicos was my best dive EVER. We took a boat an hour off-shore to a site known as Shark Hotel. It did not disappoint. We were surrounded by reef sharks the entire time.
The sharks aren’t very big and they are friendly(ish). They come close to say hello and then turn away. They like to stay close by though and swim along with you. We also saw a huge grouper, a barracuda, a few lobsters, and two turtles.

My husband completed his PADI certification while we were there. N
If you are already certified to dive, you can dive twice a day. The morning dives are better so sign up early to claim your spot on the boat!
If you are not a certified diver, you can still take the Beaches Resort course for a small fee which teaches you the basics and allows you to dive up to 40 feet.
I absolutely recommend diving in Turks & Caicos if you have a chance to visit. Beaches Resorts are one of the Top 10 diving operations in the world. They even have courses to introduce children to scuba diving as young as 8 years old. Both of my girls want to try the Bubblemaker
As part of the Social Media on the Sand event, I received complimentary items, discounted rates, and other exciting benefits from Beaches Resorts.
Wow, what an amazing trip! Turks & Caicos is on my bucket list, beautiful photos!
Your photos are beautiful and make my heart melt. I’d love to vacation there with those beautiful beaches and almost clear waters. I like your plan and agree you should follow through. Tell your husband congratulations!
I don’t think I”m brave enough for Scuba diving, but it’s certainly time for me to venture down to T&C – 350 sunny days a year!? Sign me up, so beautiful!!!
Looks like you had an amazing time! I’m a certified diver but haven’t been scuba diving for ages. I hope to visit Turks and Caicos and check out their amazing beaches and marine life one day.
I can’t believe how clear and beautiful that water was. I still don’t know if I would be brave enough to scuba dive though.
There are so many beautiful things to be seen under the water. I wish I was brave enough to learn how to scuba dive. Thank you for sharing the pictures!
This makes me miss scuba diving. I used to love to do it. There really is nothing like being below the water and seeing all the beauty of the sea.
I love the beautiful beaches at Turks and Caicos, however never tried scuba diving. My hubby and girls have tried and love it.
Amy, Awesome pics. Turks is on my bucket list. Unfortunately, as a chiropractor in Tucker, GA, I don’t get a lot of time off. But your pics and blog made me want it more. Thanks for sharing.
Question – is the Kids Club open in time for the morning dive, or how did you arrange childcare? I can’t get a response from Beaches on this.
Yes, we used the kids club for all of our dives. I remember it being close though. We had to drop them and run!
