I have lived around Atlanta my whole life, and I’ve never been to White Water before! I went to Six Flags a lot as a kid, but never did visit White Water.
We were invited for the opening of the NEW Wahoo Racer, the largest slide of its kind in te world, standing 60 feet tall and featuring six side-by-side lanes. I was really excited to take my girls and my best friend along with me to check it out!
Enjoy two different adrenaline-charged experiences on one massive structure while racing against five of your friends. With six different unique slides, you race down through the two-tier mat racer, head first, down an exhilarating, zigzagging and refreshing ride through colorful enclosed tubes before shooting them out into multi-styled racing lanes.
Wahoo Racer Facts
- The tallest slide of its kind in the world
- A tower standing 60-feet and easily visible from Interstate 75 where the park is located
- Speeds of up to 40 feet per seconds
- Six aero-dynamic designed water toboggans for the ultimate competing thrill
- Replaces the 100 Meter Splash
- Combines a serpentine toboggan tube slide with a multi style racing lane epic finish
- Adds six new slides to the Six Flags White Water world-class water slide lineup
My girls were actually tall enough to ride the new Wahoo Racer, but since this was their first experience on a waterslide, I decided that sending them face first down a pitch-black tube probably wasn’t the best slide to start them on.
The first slide we rode down together as a group was the Bahama Bobslide. You can see the video HERE on Facebook. It was a great starter for the girls.
The Tornado, a group raft that sends you down a 132-foot tunnel into the mouth of a gigantic funnel, looks really awesome! I definitely want to go back and ride it. My youngest wanted to ride it, but she wasn’t tall enough, and my oldest absolutely would not go near it.
The girls couldn’t wait to get into the 700,000 gallon Atlanta Ocean Wave Pool. Getting tossed around in big waves is always fun. The Atlanta Ocean Wave Pool is a massive wave-maker that generates 4 foot waves every 20 minutes or so.
We spent a lot of time playing in Captain Kid’s Cove and Buccaneer Bay, a watery playground stocked with countless kid-sized wet contraptions.
But the girls absolute favorite was the Little Hooch River, a 1/4 mile long lazy river. The river does all the work as you float through the channel. Plus there are multiple stopping points along the way where you can hop on and off. It’s a great way to get around the area without walking.
The girls had so much fun at their first big waterpark. We leave for our cruise at the beginning of July so I’m glad they had some time to get comfortable riding down waterslides.
Disclosure: Complimentary tickets and meals were provided by Six Flags White Water. All views and opinions are my own.
My kiddos would love that huge water slide as well. We usually spend one day in the summer at our local water park – wish we were closer to Atlanta
Looks like so much fun, and a great way to spend a hot summer day. Not sure if I’m brave enough to go down the slides, but I might gather up the courage.
Wow! I want to experienced this place. Perfect treat for my family.
Oh what a fun place! The Tornado sounds like so much fun and spending some time in the huge wave pool would be nice!
How can you resist going here on a hot summer day! The slides make the experience even more exciting! I hope to visit with my girls soon.
Great photos. I think we don’t have a resort with a slide this tall yet in my country.
That looks like so much fun. My family would have a blast there. I’ve never been to Six Flags before but I have wanted to for a while now.
Oh my god that looks so fun! Our family needs to take a little vacation and spend some time at a water park.
That water slide looks like it was so much fun! I have never been on one that looks like that, but I bet it was a blast. I would love to visit and experience the tallest water slide of this type in the world.
I like to bring the whole family here. Sounds perfect for summer! They will love it.
Oh law I’d love this and so would my grand kids. I love anything that involves refreshing water in the heat of the day. I hope to experience this soon.
wow, how come our six flags don’t have this?! lol…So much fun. Perfect place to hang out this summer. Thanks for sharing!
I haven’t been here but most certainly will be making a visit when my kids are old enough. We LOVE water and parks like Six Flags!
Do you know what the height requirement is for the wahoo racer? It is not listed on the Six Flags website. Thanks!
The minimum height is 42″ although it can be pretty scary for a 5 year old.
Thanks!! We had the chance to ride it earlier today. My 6yo daughter loved it. Her toughest choice was deciding which color tube to ride in. Haha.
