My sister introduced me to this punch recipe and I had to share it with you!! This is the BEST punch you will ever drink! I think so anyway!
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 1/2 cups white sugar
- 6 cups water
- 2 (3 ounce) packages strawberry flavored gelatin mix
- 1 (46 fluid ounce) can pineapple juice
- 2/3 cup lemon juice
- 1 quart orange juice
- 2 (2 liter) bottles lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage (I use Sprite)
DIRECTIONS:
- In a large saucepan, combine sugar, water, and strawberry flavored gelatin. Boil for 3 minutes. Stir in pineapple juice, lemon juice, and orange juice. Divide mixture in half, and freeze in 2 separate containers.
- When ready to serve, place the frozen contents of one container in a punch bowl, and stir in 1 bottle of lemon-lime soda until slushy.

Is the jello mixture actually supposed to get hard when frozen? I made it last night for a party today and it’s only slushy. Just curious, and if it doesn’t usually freeze, that might be good to add to the recipe.
Yes, it should be completely frozen solid. Then when you’re ready to serve it, place the frozen contents in a punch bowl and stir in the warm sprite. The frozen contents will slowly melt and turn into slush. Even if you run out of time and are only able to freeze it halfway, you can add cold sprite and still get the same flavor with a slushy texture. It normally doesn’t last as long though. Once the slush melts away, you’ll be left with a sweet punch. Sometimes I make this punch without freezing it and I just use less sugar.
Did you use unsweetened pineapple juice in making this punch?
I use the Dole Pineapple Juice (not from concentrate) that comes in the big can. It is naturally sweet and has about 30g of sugar. Ingredients say “Pineapple Juice, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Vitamin E, and Vitamin A.”
Thanks so much! Do you know how many people this would serve?
Can you add vodka to the punch before freezing it? Will it still be slushy? Thanks
