Not to energetic… And is good with kids… And doesn’t bark…. And doesn’t eat or poop… ok just kidding on that last part. Yes I know, I’m looking for the perfect dog. That’s what my husband wants anyways. I wouldn’t mind having a lab or boxer. He likes Golden Retrievers. And I do too, but not the long haired matted up ones.
I don’t want a dog that needs to be groomed all the time. But then again if I get a dog that doesn’t shed, the hair needs to go somewhere right?!? I would love a Boston Terrier. I wonder how bad they shed. A Boston Terrier might be too hyper for little ones though.
I took this quiz online that said the Glen of Imaal Terrier was a perfect match for me according to my answers but I think they’re kind of ugly. I’m not a big fan of Schnauzers, Shishu, or Bichons and I HATE Poodles. (No offense to you poodle lovers :-))
Come to think of it I really don’t like small dogs. I guess I’ve had to many bad experiences with them.
I’ve always wanted a Weimaraner but once again, they’re a large breed of dog. They have really soft, short hair though, so you’d think they wouldn’t shed much. I’ve had Jack Russels before so I’d prefer something different.
Ooo, an English Bulldog! They are super cute! And I do live in Georgia!! I could dress it up really cute with GA Bulldog bandannas, poor thing. Haha. Not that I care anything about football. But the hubby watches it. English Bulldogs snort and drool a lot though and I’m not about to pay an arm and a leg for a dog, no matter what breed it is.
I highly reccomend a boxer. Absolutely wonderful family dog, good with kids, as well as ither animals. English bulldogs are not so good with kids. My husband wanted a golden retriever too, but I was against the hair. I took him to see a friend of mines booxer and he thought it was the sweetest dog. We now have a 4 month old boxer puppy named Isabella. VERY SMART!
Anna, The Pilot’s Wife
I’m a fan of the boxer and so is the hubby. The only issue I have is the drool and stupidity! lol. Most boxers really need some training or they act so goofy. My husband kinda likes that about them though. He thinks that’s one reason their so lovable and cute!
I know you say you hate ShiTzu, but I have to tell you they are great for the allergy contious family. They do not shed – although they do need to be groomed – they are also hypo-allergenic, which means they don’t produce dander. We keep our pup, Sabrina, in a puppy cut and that helps stave off matting and excessive tangles. One warning however, their hair is like a q-tip. When it rains, she sucks it up and makes tight little gnarlies. We always have to get her groomed if she gets outside for too long in the rain!
I hope you and Hubby can compromise and find a pet that is beneficial to all!
PS I’m your newest follower!
My husband is a big fan of a ShiTzu but I think we are leaning towards an outdoor dog and if we get a ShiTzu he wants it to be indoors.
We have a mutt and she is medium sized and great. Doesn’t shed a ton – a little bit 2 times a year – she has hair and not fur, kwim? Anyway, when we adopted her they said she was part shepard part shiba inu.
good luck with your search! Dogs are great companions!
We got a peekapoo about a month ago. She is only about 2 lbs. & doesn’t shed at all! When she barks, which isn’t very often, it isn’t very loud at all. She is a great dog & my 2 year old loves her! Good luck at finding the right dog!
My boyfriend likes Papillon’s… they look like little rat dogs with big ears to me, but who am I to say 🙂 My daughter wants one now.
I have 2 rat terriers. I LOVE these guys. The best decision I ever made besides my husband. They are about 12-13 pounds, very loving, affectionate and relaxed. They sleep with us and are very clean. They never smell bad! I mean it’s rare. They are laying next to me right now and just hanging out. They always make sure there are never any rodents in the house too! They don’t shed much and I totally recommend them!
My brother has a rat terrior and a doberman. Niether shed or need grooming. The dobie may be too big for you though. The rat terrior is so smart. She jingles a bell when she wants to go outside. She is adorable.
Hey, I am a Georgia girl, too! Well, a transplant but I am here now!
Following along from the Friday Follow! Hope you csn stop by and follow back! Have a great weekend!

Here’s a site where you can look up all the details of different dogs. I think the Border Terrier’s kinda cute: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/borderterrier.htm. And here’s a site that lists the top 10 dogs for lazy people, lol. 😀 http://listverse.com/2007/12/21/top-10-dogs-for-lazy-owners/.
I don’t think we’d be ready for a dog anytime soon. Our 3 girls keep us busy enough, lol. Good luck finding your perfect doggie soulmate. ;p
As you know I adore the smoosh faced dogs and would LOVE to have an English Bulldog – but their lifespan is too short…I wouldn’t get one…but I also LOVE the Boston Terrier…but would be better as an inside dog.
Boston Terriers are a bit hyper when puppies, but Gerald and Peggy had 2 brothers and they were the sweetest calmest dogs ever. I still think they are best suited indoors, and so wish we would’ve had Daisy inside more. I really don’t think they shed that much – not in my opinion anyway.
Even though they are hyper they are also very friendly…our little chihuahua is one grumpy little dog! She doesn’t bite, but she loves to look all psycho like she’s going to. I want a Boston Terrier again, or a pug! Boston Terrier’s have less problems though.

Have a super week,

you should look into a greyhound!
I WHOLE HEARTEDLY love English Bulldogs. I don’t think I will ever own another breed of dog again. However, they’re not the easiest dogs to own. They shed. A lot. And drool. A lot. You have to clean their wrinkles and crevices often or risk painful skin conditions. They also do NOT do heat. Living in GA it would have to be an inside pup, and they’re big dogs. Really big. However, they are sweet, and loyal, and sweet, and loving, and just awesome. If you’re considering a bulldog or a boston, I say meet in the middle and go for a french bulldog! I believe they hold all of the endearing qualities of those breeds in one dog. 🙂
lol. Go buy an electronic dog at wal-mart. They don’t eat, poop or shed and they only bark when you turn them on. That sounds like a perfect match when searching for the perfect dog.
