My sweet little girl turned 4 years old last week!
She’s been asking for a Curious George cake since Haley turned two in March and I made a Mickey Mouse cake.
The Mickey Mouse cake was my first time ever working with fondant or stacking a cake and I also made a Army Tank cake earlier this year so the Curious George cake turned out to be easier and quicker than I had expected.
I ordered the balloons and Curious George from Amazon and I made the Happy Birthday cake bunting with my silhouette cameo! Tutorial coming soon!
Natalie had so much fun playing with her friends and family and everyone had a good laugh watching the kids hit the pinata.
I swear that thing was made of steel. All 12 kids hit it 3 times and none of the candy was falling out!
It finally took my husband hitting it with a metal baseball bat! There was shattered candy everywhere and kids scrambling to pick it all up!
Overall it was a perfect day!
You can’t go wrong with food, family, and fun!
Your cake turned out great!!!!
Thank you!
I love your cake its amazinggg!!! I am also doing a curious George theme, I love the topper did you make the banner or did you buy it?
I made the banner with my Silhouette CAMEO and I used thick paper straws to hold it up.
Giiiiiiiirl, you’ve got some mad fondant skills! Awesome!
Haha thank you! The fondant worked out perfectly this time! It seems to work better if you make it a few days before so it has more time to set!
You made that cake? I worship you, oh great and mighty baker! It looks so professional and I love the colour scheme. All the photos turned out great. Can you organize my next birthday party?
LOL thank you so much! This is my 3rd time working with fondant and I was amazing at how much easier it was this time! I originally had a different plan for the top tier but it was too much work so I just went for the polka dots! Haha!
What a CUTE party! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

Congratulations little lady!!!
Beautiful cake – I’d love to use fondant but my kids all refuse to eat it.
Do you have a tutorial on how to make this cake? Would love to attempt it…
I don’t have a tutorial for this exactly cake, but I did do a tutorial on my Mickey Mouse cake which was very similar – http://www.marvelousmommy.com/2013/04/haleys-2nd-birthday-mickey-mouse-birthday-party-ideas/
I love your cake! What are the shiny colorful balls made of and the flatened blue balls on the red cake? My fondant doesn’t come out that shiny so I figured it was something else. Thanks! Beautiful!
Thanks! The balls are just fondant. I had crisco on my hands to keep it from getting too sticky, which is why they look so shiny!
Your cake is absolutely adorable! Where did you find the little balloons that go on top?
I got them from Amazon! It came in a pack of 3.
Can I please have the recipe to your cake and the instructions?! My friends baby girl loves curious George and I would like to make the cake something similar to this.
Hi Nancy! This is just a regular stacked cake covered in fondant. I always use Duncan Hines Dark Fudge Chocolate and Butter Yellow cake mixes and then substitute the oil for butter. These cake posts might be helpful as well –

Hello, I’m trying to recreate this cake and was wondering if you happened to use candy for the small balls around the cake and also the light blue buttons. If these are candy pieces, please let me know what kind they are.
Thank you!
Hi there! The colored balls are just made out of fondant, but you could definitely use candies or gum balls. I bought the plastic cake topper balloons from Amazon. Mine came in a pack of 3 for about $6, but they have all kinds of packages and colors. And the Curious George Cake Topper & Birthday Candle Set also came from Amazon for about $5. Hope this helps!
