I have’t been tubing in the snow in over 10 years! Here in Georgia we don’t get snow very often, so we were more than thrilled to visit Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain Park for the first time!

The snow-packed mountainside is on five football fields of frosty joy, including 20 lanes of tubing. You can zoom down the 400-foot hill with 5 people in the family-sized tubes, or go it alone as a single rider.

It was almost 70° outside when we went. I was concerned that the snow would be slush, but it was perfect little icy shards. I don’t think I’ve ever been so hot while playing in the snow.

Lots of people were wearing short-sleeves and even shorts in the snow! I recommend bringing an extra change of clothes and wearing water resistant shoes. My shoes were immediately soaked after visiting the SnowZone and I walked around with wet feet the rest of the day! At least it was warm though!

The tubing session only lasts 2 hours, but it was more than enough time! We ended up tubing for only 1 hour, which was plenty of time for multiple trips down the slopes!© Tubing Storyboard

The SnowZone play area features:

  • Snow Fort – Mini tubing and tunnels for children under 54 inches tall.
  • Snowman Valley – Make your very own snow friend. The snow closet has everything you need to make the snowman of your dreams – from crazy hats to silly scarves!
  • Igloo City – Construct a fort, make a tower, dig a tunnel or build a city with the provided buckets and shovels. The attendants help make your cool creation come to life!
  • Snowball Shootin’ Gallery – Using an old-fashioned snowball shoot at crazy targets that spin, flip and turn.
