Sherry Adams is a very close friend of mine. Her oldest daughter and I grew up together and were on the same swimming team. Sherry was like a second mom to me.
The Accident:
In 2005, Sherry was hit by a drunk driver. Up until that day, Sherry lived a fun, loving, normal life. She has 3 daughters and 1 grand-daughter. Due to the car accident Sherry’s body was unable to supply enough oxygen to her brain causing her to have a stroke, which damaged her brain stem. As a result, Sherry is now a quadriplegic. She has a trach tube to help her breathe and a feeding tube so she can eat.
Sherry is very coherent but needs help doing everyday things. Sherry now needs a stem cell transplant which is very expensive and is not covered by insurance. Sherry will need to travel from Georgia to Phoenix Arizona to have the procedure done and has been told it could take up to 3 times.
Amy, Sherry’s nurse, has been thoughtful enough to organizing a Raffle to help pay for the cost of the transplant. They are trying to raise 25,000 for the procedure.

How heartbreaking. I will definitely spread the word. Unfortunately due to all our medical bills with my three year old daughter the last 6 months I don’t have extra funds. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
So sorry about your friend. I put the donation widget on my blog! http://preciselymine.blogspot.com
so tragic. Do you think you could add a tweet example to your post? It would make easier for people to tweet and spread the word
She looked just like the daughter in the middle — which one was your friend from the swim team….I just know that one in the middle looks so much like her mom did.
I don’t mean the little one in the middle, I mean the picture with the 3 daughter’s…the one in the middle looks like I remember sherri. Yes, she looks completely different.
Such a heartbreaking story… my heart goes out to the whole family. I purchased some raffle tickets and wish her the best.
So tragic and drunk driving is really dangerous so if possible we need to educate everyone about it.
