We finally got to play in some snow! I’ve been jealous of all this snow everyone else is getting! It might be man-made snow but it’s still slippery and COLD!
This was Haley’s first time ever playing in snow! We took Natalie to Snow Mountain last year but Haley was still too little.
Snow Mountain is a new-ish attraction at Stone Mountain Park. It’s a 400-foot hill with multiple lanes for tubing. You can put up to 5 people in the family-sized tubes, or go it alone as a single rider.
Snow Mountain is open select dates from November 25 – February 17 and they always have snow!
Last year, it was 70° and everyone was stripping off layers of clothing!
This year, it was 45° and freezing! I’d recommend doing your tubing session first since you don’t really touch the snow, and then playing in the Snow Zone before you leave so you can warm up in the car.
The Snow Zone seemed bigger and better this year! They changed the layout and added more attractions for the little kids which was perfect since this was Haley’s first year going!
She was just tall enough to ride the family tubes and the kiddie ones. Neither of them are big enough to do the single rider tubes on the big slope yet.
Bring an extra change of clothes and wear water-resistant shoes. I was smart this year and sprayed our shoes with scotchguard right before we left. It helped repel the snow so much!
The Snow Zone play area features:
- Snow Fort – Mini tubing and tunnels for children under 54 inches tall.
- Snowman Valley – Make your very own snow friend. The snow closet has everything you need to make the snowman of your dreams – from crazy hats to silly scarves!
- Igloo City – Construct a fort, make a tower, dig a tunnel or build a city with the provided buckets and shovels. The attendants help make your cool creation come to life!
- Snowball Shootin’ Gallery – Using an old-fashioned snowball shoot at crazy targets that spin, flip and turn.
- Penguin Run – With turrets, tunnels and mid-sized slides, Penguin Run is perfect for guests to experience the snow from up above and down below.
- Bunny Slope – Designed for kids 3 and under is the perfect place for little angels to experience tubing at their level on a smaller snow hill.
- NEW! Snow-Go-Round – Take a spin in the snow on the new Snow-Go-Round, a tubing carousel adventure designed for toddlers. The Snow-Go-Round is the perfect spot for your littlest angels to experience tubing in the snow at their level.
One $28 ticket includes a two-hour tubing session plus all day access to the snow play areas.
We had the Snow Mountain & Christmas Combo Pass ($45 per person) which includes all the snow fun plus access, lots of dazzling Christmas shows, and all of the other park attractions like The Polar Express 4-D Experience, Singalong Christmas Train, Mini-Golf, Summit Skyride, The Great Barn, Snow Angel Palace, Visit with Santa Claus, Fireworks Finale and more!
It’s definitely an all day experience. We we’re there for 5 hours and we didn’t do and see everything in the park! My girls were worn out!
We didn’t stay for the fireworks finale but we did get to see the Christmas parade and we got to see Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Wow there is so much to do! Everyone looks like they had a blast.
That has got to be the coolest tubing place I have ever seen! I love to tube, but it is such a workout! We have to carry our own tubes up a steep hill, and after 2 or 3 times, I’m beat and ready to go home lol.
I know right! There is a small amount of walking towards the top but you get to ride most of the way!
This looks like the BIGGEST blast! I’m sure we will battle the crowd next year. Red is so impatient this year, but he loves to jump and throw and be active!
Love the photos what a fun place looks like all had a fab time heheh!
Have a snowtastic week 😉
This attraction looks like so much fun! It is definitely something I want my family to visit next year (I’m too pregnant this year to enjoy it!).
That looks like an awesome place for some family fun!
Beautiful pictures! This is certainly a wonderful place to have fun! Thanks for hosting.
That looks fun! I wonder how they man make snow?
I’ve seen the machine they use. It was running wide open all day last year in the warmer weather. It’s like a huge snow gun that is connected to water and out shoots little pieces of ice! It’s pretty cool!
Oh my gosh that looks like so much fun!! We are severely lacking in the snow sports and activities here in Miami. LOL
My girls had a great time at Snow Mountain. They wanted nothing to do with the individual tubes, though. Your girls are brave.
That looks like loads of fun. I have a Hailey too! Small world!
oh my gosh i want to go!! this looks AMAZING!
What an awesome experience! Those pictures are amazing. I wish we had something like this.
Your photos are amazing.
We should check this out since our son only saw snow up close in NY when he was 9 months old and he doesn’t remember it.
What an amazing winter wonderland! Your pictures and movies were awesome! Really captured the fun you guys had!

We also visited Snow mountain and our children had so much fun! My daughter actually asked to go again this morning.
I didn’t know there was such a place down here and I totally miss my Michigan snow! Tubing for a couple hours would be sooooooo fun, and that parade with the abominable snowman – love.
What fun! that first photo is priceless.
What beautiful photos you captured of the experience! This place looks like such a blast. I especially love your little one’s adorable pink hat and the priceless look on her face as she flew down the mountain- lol. I could see myself spending days here and never getting bored, so I think $28 is a steal for an all-day pass! 🙂 Thanks for sharing this!
You got some amazing pictures! It looked like fun!
The smile in that top pic is priceless. I took my family to snow mountain last year, and we had a wonderful time.
Yay! It’s finally December! Happy Holidays!! Thank you for hosting this great party. We love your blog!!

I’m pretty sure my kids would believe we were at the North Pole if they experienced the fun at Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain park! What an amazing array of winter fun to really get into the holiday spirit. It looks like a blast!
Wow that looks like so much fun, we live in Michigan and we have a few sledding hills but nothing as elaborate as this! love it!
