Saturday, I got to take the girls bowling for their first time ever! I haven’t been bowling in such a long time. It was a blast!
My husband unfortunately had to work so I was solo with just my two babies.
We were invited to try out a brand new Stars and Strikes location in Sandy Springs. We started the day with yummy snacks and a round of bowling.
I was thinking a 3 and 4 year old might be too young for bowling but they didn’t have any trouble at all.
They had adorable little bowling shoes for them to wear and a metal bowling ramp contraption so they could easily roll the bowling balls.
Natalie was very serious about lining up her ramp just right so she could knock all the pins down.
And it worked! She beat both me and Haley by a good 30 points.
After a round of bowling, we hit the arcade! Again, something new to both of them. I hardly ever never let them run wild spending money on arcade games.
Before we left, we got to play laser tag! It was so much fun! The Sandy Springs location has a two-story course complete with fog and cosmic lighting.
I ended up taking Haley’s laser tag vest off because it was just too big and she was getting really tired and whiny by then. I was easy prey since I was shooting left-handed and I held Haley the entire time.
People kept saying they were “aiming for the lady with the kid” because I was an easy target, lol.
I wish I had some pictures of Haley wearing the vest. She’s tiny anyways so it swallowed her whole. Natalie was also pretty young for the laser tag . She was scared at first by the fog and loud music but she quickly started to enjoy herself.
Haley was also happy by the end. She really started to have fun after she stopped being a whiny butt.
I can’t wait to go back, and take my hubby this time!
If you’re looking for something fun to do with the whole family I definitely recommend checking out Stars and Strikes Family Entertainment Center. They have multiple locations across the Atlanta area.

I received complementary passes to Stars and Strikes to facilitate my post, but all opinions stated are my own. No other compensation was received.
The first bowling trip is always so fun! Though my girls always refused to use the metal ramp, so the ball went real s-l-o-w down the aisle. Longest game ever lol. Congrats on her strike!
Such great photos! Looks like they had a great time.
I remember going bumper bowling (where they put bumper pads up in the gutters) when I was younger but I don’t remember anything like this! Those ramps are SO cool.
How fun! Our local bowling alley does cosmic bowling, which is along the same lines. My kids always get a big kick out of it 🙂
Aww! cute photos and that sweet hat heheh!
Wow! This looks like so much fun for Kiddies and parents…Thanks for sharing!
Looks like such a great time! I really love bowling – we never have really colorful balls though, like the one’s you photographed.
Great photos, especially in a bowling alley!! Love the new blog look too btw!
😉
looks like a LOT of fun. i have to take my own kiddos bowling soon!
It’s on our list of things to do. Bowling is fun!
I saw a friend’s Instagram photos from this event over the weekend. It looks like it would be SO much fun! I can’t wait to introduce my son to bowling in the next couple of years!
Beautiful pictures! It looks like a lot of fun.
THE GRANNY RAMP!!! That’s better than the inflatable bumpers anyday. I wish I could bowl with those every single time. Such fun!
So sweet! My little girl is going bowling for the first time this weekend. She was invited to a birthday party from a classmate at school and is beyond excited. I hope she has a great time like your little ones did.
I really wish we could have made it to the event Saturday. I haven’t been bowling since before I got pregnant – though we have taken Sawyer twice. I’m ready to do it again!
Looks like you had such a fun time, I love the pictures. My son had a blast the first time we brought him.
What fun! I wish I was closer to ATL to go to stuff like this!
How fun! I didn’t know they had ramps like that for the younger kids to bowl! It’s why we’ve never gone! I’ll have to see if any place around here has that!
It looks like the kids had an absolute blast! I love that little contraption for letting the kids send their ball down the aisle!
What cute pictures and so much fun. We love to take our preschooler bowling.
I’ve never seen a ramp like that, cool!!
I started following your blog through bloglovin’ because your photos are fantastic and your shot set-up ideas are very creative and helpful. I used Christmas lights for a bokeh effect thanks to you! I do not see any EXIF data on the bowling photos. The light is perfect! I know you did not drag your new lighting set-up to the bowling alley. Did you bounce a flash or just use what light was available. Thanks.
Aw thanks! My camera doesn’t even a have a flash so these are all shot with available light, which wasn’t much.
The first photo was shot with my 50mm 1.4 lens. 1/200 sec f/1.8 ISO 6400
My new Canon handles ISO much better than my T3i did. 6400 would be maxed out for the T3i while my 6D has a 100-25600 ISO range.
I love bowling with the kids. We do the bumpers – but I’ve never seen ramps before. I love it! Looks like a lot of fun
It looks like so much fun. The pictures are fantastic.
So sweet and so fun! I think we’re almost at the right age to take our LO bowling! Thanks for the idea!
