If you missed PART ONE of our trip, check it out first.
Day 2 – May 5th
Cinco de Mayo started out early with the breakfast buffet at the Sandcastles Restaurant.
Then the kids headed down to the Kids Krew while the moms headed to the spa!
Kids Krew
The Hilton Sandestin Resort has daytime and nighttime kids programs (ages 5-12) so you spend some kid-free time at the resort. They have themed days with different activities for the kids each day!
The room is filled with 4 smart TVs, iPads, computers, and new game systems. On sunny days, the licensed staff also take the kids outside for kite-flying, water balloon fights and sand-sculpting along the beach.
Serenity by the Sea
The 11,000-square-foot spa was definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip. Unfortunately, the massage area of the spa was temporally closed due to recent storm damage and flooding.
While waiting on our pedicure appointment, we still got enjoy the peace and quiet in our plush robes at the women’s lounge with the whirlpool and sauna steam room.
Lunch
After the spa, all the kids met up for lunch at Picnix, one of the six restaurants located on the property. Picnix has an assortment of deli sandwiches and wraps, and Edy’s ice cream for the kids! We also got to meet Sunny the Sea Turtle there!
Beach Time
Then we spent a few hours at the beach lounging in our reserved chairs, playing in the water and sipping on Cinco de Mayo margaritas.
After a quick change, the kids headed to the the Kids Night Out (the nighttime Kids Krew program) for some space invasion fun and the moms headed to the Sandcastles private dinning room for dinner and wine tasting!
I had a delicious 14oz ribeye with mashed potatoes, a salad, dessert and lots of wine!
After dinner, we met back up with the kiddos for beachside s’mores and a late night walk on the beach.
Last Day – May 6th
Tuesday morning, we grabbed a quick breakfast at the Sandcastles buffet and then headed back home to Georgia.

I’m pretty sure that my eleven year old would live in a tent on the beach if I let him. What a gorgeous beach.
