In honor of the new Flora collection from Kizmos, which are kitchen tools and gadgets inspired by flowers and nature, I decided to create some really simple and adorable Sunflower Oreo Pops.
Supplies:
- 1 package of Double Stuffed Oreos
- 12oz Ghirardelli Melting Chocolate
- Chocolate Sprinkles
- Lollipop Sticks
- Green Ribbon
- Cardstock
- 3D Sunflower cut file (#31592)
Makes about 12-15 pops (or more)
I made white chocolate Oreo Pops for my daughter’s Candyland birthday party earlier this year and they were a big hit! Be sure to check out that post for more detailed tips and tricks on dipping your Oreos.
I like to use the double broiler method for melting my chocolate. This method keeps the chocolate from getting too hot or cooling too quick. You want your water very hot, but not boiling! It’s very important not to let ANY water drip into your chocolate!
After the lollipop sticks have set, you can dip the entire Oreo in your melted chocolate.
Quickly rotate the pop, letting the excess chocolate drip off, add chocolate sprinkles to one side, and lay the Oreo on your completed Sunflower cut out while the chocolate is still wet.
Let them dry completely.
I used my Silhouette CAMEO and 3D Sunflower cut file to cut out two sunflower shapes. Then I glued them on top of each other and bent the petals down some to give them a 3D effect.
The melted chocolate will act as a glue for sticking the Oreo to the cardstock. It’s also easy to remove when it’s time to eat them!
For the finishing touches, add the green ribbon to cover your lollipop stick. You could always buy green lollipop sticks and skip this step completely.
