Everyone’s holiday shopping habits are different. My mom always bought gifts throughout the year. She had a specific closet full of gifts she collected when she found a great deal. I always used to laugh about it, but it really came in handy. Any time I needed a gift for any occasion, I would go “shopping” in the gift closet.
Unlike my mother, I didn’t shop throughout the year. I don’t have special gifts picked out for family members. It’s one week until Christmas, and I haven’t bought any gifts for anyone other than my kids. I’m a procrastinator, clearly I shop better under pressure.
But, no matter your shopping style, there are a few evergreen tips to keep in mind no matter your shopping style:
- Shop Online – Shop from home and pick up your purchases at your local store with free store pick-up, guaranteed in five minutes – still the fastest way to get your online purchases.
- Make a Budget – Always shop from a list, it prevents overspending. Stick to your budget by carrying cash and leaving the credit cards at home.
- Do-it-yourself – Sometimes the gifts made with love are the best gifts to receive. Pinterest is full of DIY ideas like peppermint body scrubs and baked goods.
- Get Advice/Member Assist – A digital tool from Shop Your Way, connects members with store associates across the country at the click of a button.
